2024 marina works underway
On 5 August 2024 we embarked on our seventh annual stage of major marina refurbishment works (see below). This stage sees the main walkway & all finger pontoons on A West and all finger pontoons on F Row refurbished. New timber whalers, through rods, cleats, knee & pile brackets will all be replaced.
This stage of works completes what we started back in 2017 and has included several kilometres of timber replacement, 179 new service pedestals, 40 new fire hose reels and new LED walkway lights. Other waterfront improvements have included the breakwater renourishment, wavescreen maintenance, dredging & sludge removal, a new travel lift, new fuel ATM, launch ramp works and the refurbishment of the ken king centre including new marina entrance, synthetic grass area, furniture, bbqs and enclosed glass area. We also recently refurbished all 8 SYC fixed marks on Port Phillip.
This month we are also embarking on essential services maintenance as foreshadowed in our plan. There remains lots to do and we continue to chip away at the list to ensure our marina stays in great shape.
