OutThere Sailing is the ideal way to have fun and get active on the water and is all about:
-
Having fun while experiencing sailing.
-
Socialising with friends and making new ones.
-
Learning how to sail in an inclusive environment.
-
Developing life-long friendships and learning team skills.
The aim of the program is to have fun, spend time with friends and learn new skills. All of our youth programs are delivered by qualified Australian Sailing Instructors.
This program is aimed at 12-17 year olds who would like to try dinghy sailing, keelboat sailing, stand up paddleboarding and powerboating. There are two sailing skills sets to develop in the form of helming and crewing. Ideally getting a balance between both is great but if you would prefer to do one over the other there is plenty of ways to have fun. OutThere Sailing also focuses on the social element of a club environment, simply enjoying time spent with peers whether that be on the water, on the beach or in the clubhouse.
The program is designed to keep friends together. So a person on OutThere Sailing 1 and OutThere Sailing 2 can sail together.

OutThere Sailing Experiences
OutThere Sailing Experience sessions are all about having fun and getting a taste for on water activities. This action packed program will give you the opportunity to try one or all of the following; sailing, powerboating and keelboating.
OutThere Sailing
OutThere Sailing is a great introduction to these sports and their skills, but will still focus on fun with friends. The program provides a wide variety of on water activates that will give you an introduction to sailing and power boating. You will learn these skills through exciting exercises and put them to good use in fun on water activities.
Youth Squad
OutThere Squad is for teens who are competent and confident to continue having a fun time on water and developing their skills through different activities. Our Squad participants are SYC Youth Members and they are encouraged to participate in club events that suit their interests.
