Marine Radio Operators Certificate of Proficiency

A Marine Radio Operators’ Certificate of Proficiency is a prerequisite for all commercial qualifications. It is also required for all who use marine VHF and MF/HF radios and is strongly recommended for others pursuing recreational maritime training.

This course is a self-study course.  Please familiarise yourself with the Australian Maritime College’s Handbook in the lead up to the start of the course.  You can do this by using the link below or if you’re in the area you’re most welcome to pick up a hardcopy from the Club during office hours.  You’ll receive your copy on the night if you can’t make it in prior to the course.  The course is run over two nights.  The first night is going to cover the VHF element and the second night covering the HF followed by a 50 question exam.

Also on the AMC website, there is a 148 question revision quiz. The 50 questions that will be on the exam is randomly taken from these.
