John “Willo” Williams has skippered his Catana 431 “Tyee 111” to first place in the Multihull Passage division at Airlie Beach Race Week for the second year in succession. Crewed by his family of Peter, Michael, Elizabeth and son in law Rik Thompson, together with long standing SYC members Hugh Halliburton and Bruce Kellerman, Tyeee 111 took out a closely contested regatta by four points. After a resounding win in the first race of the series and a number of second places, the win was sealed with a hard fought victory in the final race. The regatta was sailed in a variety of conditions from 20 to 25 knots down to 5 knots at times in the beautiful, warm blue waters of Pioneer Bay and the Whitsunday Islands. Race management and after race festivities were excellent. We look forward to defending our title next year.
