It was the latter two thirds of the 39 yacht fleet that benefited the most from this race. None of the first 13 yachts to start were among the first 13 to finish. Those that handled the sloppy seas in an increasing southerly breeze that averaged about 10 knots for the afternoon recorded the best results. Sailing a good first leg along the 9.8 nautical mile course 13 was arguably the key to a successful result. Read more…
