The series has still to reach the halfway mark but already 4 races have been abandoned – 1 in April, 2 in May and now 1 in June. There is still a way to go before a record for the number of abandoned races in series will be set. In both the 2009 and 2010 winter series 8 races were cancelled. In more recent times, 7 races were abandoned in the winter 2016 series. Over the past ten years an average of about 5 winter series races have been called off compared with about 3 summer series races. Over the past 10 years the number of races cancelled in the winter series has trended down compared to a small increase in summer series races. Read More.
