What began as a race in warm, sunny weather with a 10 to 15 knot northerly breeze finished in wet cool weather with a south westerly breeze with strong localised gusts of 25+ knots. Some of the 37 yacht fleet reduced sail whilst others eased both main and jib to cope with the gusty conditions that developed over the last 3 legs of the race. It produced the closest finish for many a WW series when all 37 starters crossed the finish line within 9 minutes 56 seconds of each other. Only 4 seconds separated the 3 podium finishers in a race that saw a tie for 18th place. Read more…
