Opening Day – Saturday 7 October 2023

On Saturday 7 October 2023, SYC Members and their guests get to celebrate the Opening of our sailing season!

The day gets underway at 11am in the hardstand village with live entertainment from Haley & Steve. The opening ceremony commences at 1pm and will be followed by the sail past from 2pm and the OTB Ronstan Opening Day Challenge from 2.30pm. From 4pm, come back to the hardstand village and join in the family fun with a magician and face painting for the kids. There will be live music on the deck from 3.30pm. And headlining our entertainment, from 6.45pm, Yacht Rock Revival will be performing live in the Port Phillip Room.

Getting into the spirit of Opening Day is a great tradition at SYC. This years Opening Day is “Superheroes”, so pull out your best outfits! The Commodore will be awarding ‘best dressed boats’ and “best dressed members’.

If you’re not heading out on the water, come view the sail past from the Members’ Lounge which will open from 12pm. The kitchen will be open from 12pm to 9pm. The Ken King Centre will have egg and bacon rolls on offer in the morning from 9am and over lunch we will have a range of tasty options available.

Looking forward to an amazing day at SYC – it’s great to belong!
