After returning from Belgium in August, the Viper Youth Team have been hard at training using Sandringham YC as a base for some weeks under James Wierbowski to get ready for some major regattas. The SYC crews have had great results to date in four major regattas. Harrison Rietman and Jack Challands won the Victorian Cat Championships Div 2 along with Springsail Regatta and finished in 2nd Place at SWC. Tayla Rietman and Lachie White (NSW) won SWC and had a 2nd at Springsail and George Mac along with a 4th at the Victorian Cat Champs. Team Hughes, Dave and Lachie have been also filling up the top spots with their focus firmly on the Viper Worlds at Geelong next month.
Tayla and Lachie White have been invited up to Sydney to try out and train on the Nacra 17 with Darren Bundock/AST and then race at Sail Sydney. Also Jack Challands and Lachie Hughes will be teaming up on the New Youth Nacra 15 which arrives in January for a tilt at the N15 Australian Titles at Easter.
