There are only 2 more races scheduled for the remainder of this series but 7 yachts out of a 25 yacht fleet were still able to record their best result of the series. 38 DEGREES SOUTH (John Chatham & Kate Mitchell) had her first win. LEBROK (Theo Korbel) finished 3rd, HI JAC (J.Gledhill) 4th, LA BELLE VIE (Grant Anderson) 5th, DEBONNAIRE (Phil Gomez) 7th, FIRST PASSION (Simon Lipman) 12th and KISMET (Doug Jackson) 16th. Other yachts were not quite so lucky. Of the 25 starters there were only 19 finishers with 2 yachts retiring and another 4 not finishing within the 1230 time limit. Although the actual wind speed (average 12 knots) and direction were in accordance with the forecast there was a noticeable lull around 1030.
