Race 19 saw the smallest WW fleet in a race this series with only 14 yachts taking part. This race (race 20) was something of a turnaround with 42 yachts taking place around the shortest course of the summer – 8.8 nautical miles. Nevertheless with a breeze that only averaged about 7 knots for the afternoon it took longer to complete than the 9.9 nautical mile course sailed in a 20 knot breeze the previous week. With a yacht crossing the finish line on average every 43 seconds it wasn’t the closest finish of the series but it was an interesting course. The fleet had the chance to sail on a reach, run and beat rounding some marks to port and the rest to starboard.
