SYC MATCH RACING TRAINING PROGRAM 2018

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) invites youth and above sailors (Age 16+) to participate in this year’s SYC Match Racing Training Program. This program is aimed at improving the quality of match racing at SYC as well as providing our young members with an opportunity to represent SYC on a national and international level.

For the first year, SYC is also opening this program to non-members in an attempt to help facilitate and grow match racing in Victoria. It is recommended that participants from other yacht clubs enter as teams. All participants must be a current member of an Australian Sailing affiliated yacht club. The program is limited to a maximum of 30 participants. This number may change at the discretion of the SYC Boating Department. Priority will be given to SYC members over non-members.

The coaches for the program will be Michah Shuwalow and James Sly. SYC may bring in specialised coaching resources from time to time to further develop the skills of program participants. Applicants may apply as a team or individually. Where an applicant applies individually, the coaches of the program will assist with assigning you to a team.
