We’ve got some exciting news with the imminent arrival of new tower lights for the purposes of race management.
In recent months General Committee approved the proposal to replace the current (faulty) lights with new LED lighting. The new display will be a full colour, full graphic panel so character height and colour can be altered very much like a word document. The brightness of this display is also designed to cope with full sunlight and be far more legible. It’s also going to be pretty sizeable – approx. 5m wide X 1.3m high.
We expect the installation of the new lights (and its custom built cabinet) to take place in late November/early December. We will do our best to avoid any disruption during the install but there may be a day or two when the system is down – we will naturally make alternate arrangements so our racing is not disrupted.
Whilst it’s taken more time than planned, we have invested in a quality product and there’s also been our fair share of detail and logistics including cranes, external fittings and so on.
However we look forward to the outcome – a far superior, brighter solution so we can communicate all you need to know re: the race of the day.
