Local Road Closure ~ Sunday 6 November

Race 1 of the 2016-17 ActiveTri Series which will be held on Sunday 6 November 2016 starting at 6:45 am. Participants in the event will pass nearby your residence/business. We hope this does not cause any inconvenience.

The event is a swim at Green Point Reserve, a bike ride conducted on Beach Road between Dendy Street, Brighton and Middleton Street, Black Rock. The run course will follow the walking tracks along the foreshore between Green Point Reserve and Trevor Barker Oval. Please take care and give way to the participants on these paths during the morning of the event. We expect approximately 1,200 participants.

The assembly area for the event is Green Point Reserve, Brighton. Please note that there will be limited access to the Green Point car park on Saturday, 5th November from 8.00am to Sunday, 6th November 4:00am. The car park will be fully closed on Sunday 6th November 2016 from 4:00am until 11:00am.

The following closures will be in place from 6:00am and reopen at 11:00am: 

  • Full closure of Beach Road, starting from the corner of Beach Road and Balcombe Road, Black Rock, to Beach Road and Dendy Street, Brighton.
  • No access onto Beach Road, from all side streets and roads in between Beach Road and Balcombe Road, Black Rock, to Beach Road and Dendy Street, Brighton. Limited access via crossing Beach Rd to Jetty Rd from Georgiana St will be controlled by an Accredited Traffic Controller.
  • Residents who need to leave properties via Beach Road during the road closure are to keep in the 40 km/h slip lane closest to residents, and head south to turn left at the next street (those residents coming from a dead end street, please take direction from the Traffic Marshal at your junction).  When returning to access Beach Road, enter north of your residence to return to your property.  If you are aware of any services, contractors or others that need to access your property, please pass this information onto them.
