The annual SYC fishing competition was held over 48 hours last weekend. R Marine Jacksons were again the major sponsor. Fine weather and light to moderate breezes were to provide ideal fishing conditions. Fourteen boats entered and many made multiple excursions and fished various locations around Port Phillip.
The winner was Paul Liddiatt in “Blue Bell” with a 7.16kg snapper in the picture below followed by Anthony Labagnara ”Inkedouy” with a fine 5.42 kg example. The “phantom weight” prize of 3.0kg was won by Andrew Read with a 2.90 kg snapper. Paul will be presented with the Wayne Read trophy at the Rec Boat Christmas party on 6 December.
