The Australian Laser Master Championships were sailed at Port Stephens Aquatic Club north of Sydney over February 12th-15th. Over 200 Laser Masters competed aged 35 and above and broken into Standard, Radial & 4.7 rigs.
The racing was very close with 50 boats on the start line for each of the four starts. SYC members featured with James Mitchell sailing strongly as always and finishing 4th in the Radial Grandmaster Division. Rob Hartnett finished 10th overall in the Radial Masters Division and Armando DiStefano finished 28th also in the Radial Masters.
The next Master Nationals will be in Adelaide in 2017 sailing with the Open Championship and the Victorian Laser Championships will be sailed over the March Labour Day weekend at Somers Yacht Club on Westernport.
