Robert was already one of the world’s most accomplished skiff dinghy sailors when he joined the ABN AMRO ONE for the 2005-06 Volvo Ocean Race. With no Volvo Ocean Race experience, the transition to ocean racing wasn’t an easy one, but with raw speed and personal stamina, Rob added a new dimension to the Dutch campaign.
Rob has competed in five Volvo Ocean Races, winning the prestigious event with ABN AMRO ONE in 2006 and finishing second on two occasions with PUMA & Mapfre.
Come along and listen to Rob talk about his experiences with his five Volvo races and to what the future might hold for the race.
