This event was the first time that a World O’pen cup has been held in the Southern Hemisphere, highlights of the regatta were the Opening ceremony which was on the beach with the local aboriginal group performing under a setting sun and of course the fantastic Melbourne weather with the teams racing taking place in 40 deg temps on New Years Eve.
I know some of our members are planning to head to the next Worlds to be held in Quiberon, France in July we will be looking forward in following.
Big thank you to SYC member Simon Dubbin for these photos and report!
