Wednesday Wonders Winter Series 2019 Race 1 – A Great Start to the Winter Series

What began as a light variable breeze over flat seas gradually increased and steadied throughout the afternoon to produce a great start to the winter series. This probably favoured the late starters but it still produced a good race enjoyed by the thirty seven yachts that completed the race. The race was around the 9.8 nautical mile course 12, which in the southerly breeze, that averaged 12 knots for the afternoon, provided upwind, downwind and reaching legs.
