Race 16 became yet another casualty of strong winds. It became the third of four races abandoned due to the weather. Gale force winds were recorded on Tuesday and there were winds of 30+ knots on Thursday. BOM issued a strong wind warning for Port Philip on Wednesday and Fawkner Beacon recorded wind strengths 27 and gusts of 33 knots during the afternoon.
