Insufficient breeze caused a delay to the start of this year’s Jaffa Trophy race. Thirty minutes was all that was needed to see an increase in the southerly from around 3 to 6 knots. When the race started there was some doubt that the 40 yacht fleet would complete the 9.9 nautical mile course 26. However, all doubts were dispelled as the breeze continued to increase as the afternoon progressed and 39 yachts (1 retired) completed the race well within the time limit. Read More.
