This race provided another close finish especially for the 27 yachts that finished within 10 minutes of the winner. The 33 yacht fleet (one of the smaller fleets of the series) included the Farr 1020 TEQUILA (David Tait) who completed her first Wednesday race of the summer. Not only were the yachts racing against each but also trying to beat the advancing thunderstorms with their customary strong gusts. The breeze increased as the afternoon progressed averaging about 16 knots for the afternoon as it shifted more easterly.
