A change of wind direction at 13:53 and the lightest strength of wind for the day, was not much help to the early starters. They had been closely studying the ripples on the water trying to stay in a breeze.
You can see in this photo how these yachts have brought their own wind with them. The bigger yachts were able to bring even more wind.
The wind swung to the SE at about 2:30 assisting those who started later going to No 6. It did not pay to focus on the yachts rapidly approaching the stern of your yacht. Read more…
