Just 15 yachts crossed the start line for Race 23. The number of finishes was 2 less so only13 finished. A 17 knot westerly wind was forecast and some rain was expected.
The forecast on the ABC radio was confusing. The announcement was “A Gale and Strong Wind warning for Bass Strait and the Bays”. So which warning belonged to which coastal water?
