Tasmania – Around the Coast

This spectacular 176-page full colour hardback coffee table book (written by Peter Turrell and produced by Rob Ungar) tells stories and adventures of this unforgettable journey. It covers, specifications of the boats, weather predictions, the log, charts, preparation, departure and a day by day account of the harbours, rivers, towns and waterways visited. The book has some magnificent photos of Tasmania, including the amazing coastline, ocean and boats. This book is a must for anyone contemplating a trip like this or would like to see how it was done.

We gathered a group of 10 like-minded boat owners and crews, 43 in total, from several Yacht Clubs and Marinas around Port Philip Bay, some who had not experienced blue water cruising, Bass Strait or even the beauty of Tasmania let alone a circumnavigation of some 1200 nautical miles of this magnificent coastline and were guided by two professional Skippers including a Tasmanian Mike Percy and another experienced Skipper David Prior who has previously cruised the Tasmanian waterways.

The publication was made possible thanks to many companies who took out advertising to promote their products and services.

The book will be launched on Tuesday 26 November 2019 and stock may be purchased from Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) at the unbelievable price of just:

$25 each (1-4 copies) or 5+ copies for $20 each (plus postage and packaging).

To purchase your copy, please call SYC on 03 9599 0999 or email [email protected].

All profits raised will be donated to SYC junior sailors’ program and facilities and to Sailability Australia, a great charity for the disabled.
