Hi Members
Like you we are very keen to see restrictions eased later this week and when they are we will be in touch. A couple of updates for you in the interim;
- SYC Podcast #30 – Deeksy, George and Ian are back. Tune into the latest podcast here. Guests include SYC Members Rob Date, J P Macquet, Hugh Pilsworth and Ron Blint. Head chef Kol drops in and I join the guys as well. I hope you find it informative.
- Membership Milestones – Congratulations to the following Members who recently chalked up very significant membership milestones;
- 80 Years of SYC Membership – Richard Bartholomew (that’s not a typo – 80 years of SYC Membership!)
- 70 Years of SYC Membership – Graeme Kaufman
- 70 Years of SYC Membership – Ian Kaufman
- 40 Years of SYC Membership – Sue Boon
- 40 Years of SYC Membership – Michael Manson
- 40 Years of SYC Membership – Peter Manuel
- SYC Projects – we are making good progress on our marina, Ken King Centre and travel lift projects. Our maintenance team have commenced the B West marina works and to see the improvement is always uplifting. They are working inwards from the west and making reasonable progress. The ken king maintenance and upgrade works are also taking shape and in a matter of 2-3 months you will have a greatly improved space at SYC overlooking the marina. With your blessing we have also now placed the order for our new travel lift … so if all goes to plan it will be here and operational towards the back end of 2021.
- Club Events – here are some updated diary dates;
- Sail Presentation Night – NOW Fri 9 July
- Wednesday Wonders Presentation Night – NOW Fri 23 July
- Our next clubhouse club event is currently scheduled for Fri 18 June (Friday week) that being the INXS cover band INXSIVE. We will be back in touch once the announcements are made later this week.
- Ken King Centre – a quick reminder we are trading daily from 9am-4pm with some great take home food and hot coffees etc.
