SYC Regatta 2017

incorporating the AMS/IRC State championships on Saturday 14 – Sunday 15 January 2017

 

The regatta is open to all Monohull keelboats. Racing is offered in the following formats:

  • AMS/IRC Championships (including Super 11 scoring)
  • Event Performance Handicap – Boat start, fixed marks and a tower finish.
  • Sydney 38 One Design (Race day 5)
  • MONJON J24 One Design (Race day 7)
  • Non-Spinnaker Pursuit Start – Tower start, fixed marks and a tower finish with no extras.

Regatta Office:

  • The Regatta Office is located in the Training Auditorium enter via the northern end of the Clubhouse.

Membership:

  • Competitors and officials are to present themselves to the Registration Office on arrival to be issued with their Honorary Membership pass.
  • All competitors’ family members/competitor supporters will be issued with a Honorary Membership in the form of a wrist band that needs to be worn at all times whilst on the SYC premises for the duration of the regatta. SYC staff may request to see proof of Honorary Membership throughout the regatta. Adults will need photo id at time of issue.
  • Honorary membership will be issued on the basis that competitors and officials respect the rules and regulations of SYC Honorary Membership, this privilege may be revoked at any time.

MARINA BERTHING:

  • The regatta entry fee does not include berthage. If you would like to make an enquiry about marina berthing, please contact the Water Front Department on (03) 9599 0901.

Parking:

  • Jetty Road provides Council [ticketed: 8.00am-8.00pm, you will need to bring change] parking areas.

Facilities:

  • The Ken King Centre provides access to change rooms and toilets. Please do not leave valuables unattended. SYC do have lockers available [first in, first served basis] however you will need to provide your own padlock.
  • Prior to racing on both days, the Ken King Centre will be open for food and drinks.
  • Members’ Bar & Members’ Lounge:
    • Members’ Bar will be open from 11.00am Saturday and from 11.00am Sunday.
    • Members’ Lounge from 9.00am Saturday and Sunday.

Safety:

  • Officials may carry out spot checks from time to time. Any boat that does not fully comply with all Class rules and YA Safety Regulations may be subject to protest.

Presentation:

  • A presentation ceremony will be held on the northern podium of the main Clubhouse as soon as possible after racing on Saturday 14 January 2017 for all divisions racing on just the Saturday. There will also be a presentation ceremony on the afternoon of Sunday 15 January 2017 which will be held on the northern podium of the main Clubhouse as soon as possible after racing.
  • On Saturday 14 January, the Ronstan Band will be performing live on the Northern Podium from 4:30pm!
