On Saturday night 22 April, in front of an industry crowd of 500 at the annual Community Clubs Victoria Awards, SYC came away with two great wins.
Tevany Patten the Club’s Events Manager won the industry’s Best Employee Award. An amazing win given the field of finalists, it’s a real credit to Tevany – the ultimate professional, congrats!
SYC also won the Environmental Award for a range of initiatives including the 2016 re-accreditation as a Level 3 Clean Marina, go Sandy!
In a very competitive Club field of some 1800 Clubs, SYC got close in two other categories being announced as finalists. Firstly in the Metro Chef of the Year category, our congrats to SYC Chef, Jimmy Mains. Jimmy is our resident Habour View Restaurant Chef and 2-IC of kitchen operations – awesome effort Jimmy! And secondly in the Metro Club of the Year Award, SYC was one of the three finalists. Whist we didn’t win, we take our hat off to the winner and it will make us try that little bit harder in 2017.
