CORRESPONDENCE TO SYC Members via email on Monday 9 November

Hi Members,

Great news for Members who live 25km or more from the Club – you can now return to SYC. Also Members can now do their own maintenance on their boats if they wish. Yesterday’s announcement also means we can increase our capacities for lunch and dinner in the Clubhouse and we can also furnish the Ken King Centre which continues to be popular and trade 7 days per week. We will also be opening change rooms. And we continue with our Member first focus with all offerings available to Members and Members guests only.

It’s been a breath of fresh air over the last two weeks to see many of you back here enjoying your Club! We have our AGM coming up and I will be writing to you about that tomorrow but that aside, here are some other updates;

  1. Recreational boating: All SYC Members can go fishing, go boating and go sailing whenever they want for as long as they want…whilst respecting all the Government regulations.
  2. Fishing competition: is on this weekend and it’s in a great new 48-hour format from 11:00am this Friday 13 November – 11am Sunday 15 November. Open to all SYC Members, read up on the detail here
  3. New food and beverage menu: from this Thursday we will have a new look menu with more on offer, Kol is chatting with our suppliers but it will look something like this and will change regularly – check it out here. Bookings can be made on 9599 0999.
  4. Opening Day: 2020 Opening Day will be held on Saturday 5 December …. save the date and we will send you all the detail shortly.
  5. Membership Promotions: Up until Opening Day we have some incentives for past Members to re-join, a Member Get Member incentive and an offer for Crew Members to upgrade to Full Membership – here is the detail.
  6. Scheduled Interruption of Power supply: United Energy have advised there will be interruption to our electricity supply on Thursday 19 November from 12:30pm – 4:00pm. Our generator will provide power to the Clubhouse during this time but all other areas will be without power. Please make any necessary arrangements if need be.

For any of you who were around yesterday the Club looked spectacular with the J24 fleet, the Sunday Sailors and the pretty amazing fleet of 70 racing out of the OTB…. A few images can be viewed here.

I hope to see you around the Club shortly.

Warm Regards & Stay Safe
