Wednesday, 5th September 2018

Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) is delighted to announce a two year extension on its partnership with Mercedes-Benz Brighton.

Mercedes-Benz Brighton (MBB) has continued its major support of SYC including:

  • Mercedes-Benz Brighton Wednesday Wonders, a series that continues to grow and is now becoming the largest regular fleet on Port Phillip
  • Mercedes-Benz Brighton Thursday Twilight series
  • Mercedes-Benz Brighton Saturday Aggregate Series
  • Mercedes-Benz Brighton Sunday Sailors
  • The annual ‘Mercedes-Benz Brighton Port Phillip Challenge’

Commenting on the company’s decision to continue and enhance its support of sailing at SYC, Dealer Principal of Mercedes-Benz Brighton, Geoff Quirk, said:  “We are delighted to continue our partnership with the Sandringham Yacht Club. We have been highly impressed with the club, the committee and all support staff for making us feel part of the SYC family. Naturally we have been delighted to assist so many members with their vehicle requirements and look forward to helping many more in the future.’’

SYC Commodore Rob Davis stated “It is once again fantastic to be able to extend the partnership with our friends at Mercedes-Benz Brighton for a further two years. We are very grateful to MBB for the many direct benefits to our Members the sponsorship provides. Like all of our relationships, it is one based on friendship, loyalty, and mutual benefit. It is a pleasure to re-sign with Geoff and the team, and we know all SYC Members will get a great deal from MBB when next in the market for a car”.

SYC continues to go from strength to strength and was recently awarded both the 2018 Community Club Victoria’s “Club of the Year” and the 2018 Victorian “Yacht Club of the Year”. Fleet numbers in all keelboat programs across the week are growing and club membership numbers are at a new all-time high.

SYC CEO Richard Hewett said “The MBB partnership directly benefits all SYC Members who race in our keelboat series as well as supporting our wonderful race management team. The partnership provides for so much in the way of trophies, thank you events, training and merchandise. We are very fortunate to have such a great partner in Mercedes-Benz Brighton”.

Don’t forget as an SYC Member if you are in the market for a vehicle to get in touch with our friends at the MBB dealership – you will get looked after and MBB also provide SYC with a $500 rebate which gets directly injected into the provision of boating services at SYC.
