The Annual SYC Cup Navigation Rally was held on Sunday 20 February in almost perfect conditions.
With a good turn out of SYC boats and also boats from RVMYC and BMYS competing, the conditions made for very competitive scoring. So much so that two boats finished with a great score of just 9 points and had to be split on a countback.
All other competitors were very close, with the first 7 boats within 22 points.
Unfortunately though for SYC it just wasn’t our day, with the following results announced:
1st place on 9 points – Bold Venture (Cameron & Bridget Simpson) – RVMYC
2nd place on 9 points – Casa Verde (Chris & Kylie Ackerman) – RVMYC
3rd place on 13 points – Vixen 1 (Phil Strong and Jon Evans) – SYC
Congratulations to the winners and also to RVMYC, who for the first time in a while took home the CUB Cup for the most successful club competing in the event.
Also a big to those who competed and to those who ran the event, as a great day was had by all.
