SYC Coronavirus

21 April 2022

Hi All

You may be aware that many COVID-19 restrictions will be eased with effect from 11:59pm on Friday 22nd April.

Those that are pertinent to SYC (our staff, members and guests) are summarised below;

  • Members and guests will no longer be required to be double vaccinated or to show their vaccination status before entering the clubhouse or Ken King Centre.
  • Staff however at this stage, are still required to be double vaccinated or to provide a current valid medical exemption certificate to be allowed to work at our venue.
  • There is no longer a requirement for members and guests of the club to check in using the Service Victoria app.  So whilst we will still need to keep records of non-members to satisfy our liquor licence regulations, there will be no further need for a COVID-19 marshall.
  • Masks are no longer required in hospitality or retail settings (unless in some circumstances where you are a close contact of someone who has COVID-19 – see below)
  • Close contacts of people who have COVID-19 are no longer required to quarantine, providing they wear a mask indoors and avoid sensitive settings.
  • People are exempt from testing or quarantine for 12 weeks if they’ve had COVID-19 – up from 8 weeks
  • Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to notify their workplace contacts, in addition to informing their social contacts.
  • Individuals who contract COVID-19 are still required to isolate for seven days following a COVID-19 diagnosis.

Please remember wearing a mask is a very personal choice and should Members, guests or staff still wish to wear one, you are of course free to do so.

Warm Regards & Stay Safe,
