The chance of a Sunday race in August came to an end when race 8 became the latest victim of the weather. A gale warning was issued by BOM for Sunday and it did not disappoint. Observations at Fawkner Beacon for the morning resulted in an average wind speed of 26 knots with gusts of 36 knots from the south west. The wind kept temperatures down with Moorabbin Airport recording an average of 9.6 degrees C. After considering wind chill the average dropped to 2.4 degrees C. Read more…
