Sunday Sailors Summer Series 2019-20 Race 11 – Good to be Back on the Water

Wednesday, 4th March 2020

Without a Sunday race for 4 weeks it was good to be back on the water for the first race in March. A total of 29 yachts, equaling the largest fleet of the series, took to the water on what were ideal sailing conditions – a northerly breeze that average about 15 knots for the morning. It did strengthen particularly during the last hour of the race when 3 yachts retired. For those that completed the race it was the closest finish of the series with only 13 minutes 40 seconds separating all 26 yachts. The race took the fleet around the 6 leg 9.9 nautical mile course 26 and in the northerly breeze about 52% of the course was a beat with 48% a run. To read click here.
