Sunday Sailors Summer Series 2018-19 Race 11

There was a fifteen minute delay to the start after it was discovered that SYC 6, which formed part of the original course, had gone AWOL. Some quick thinking resulted in the assignment of a new course which allowed the race to continue. It was a great result for PANACHE IV (Egils E Stokans) who led the 24 yacht fleet around the 9.8 nautical mile course 24 from start to finish. She, and the rest of the fleet, were helped by a northerly that averaged 19 knots for the morning at Fawkner Beacon – the most breeze of the series. Yachts sailed faster than in any other race this series. The race saw WHITE ONYX (Ben & Katherine Solly) retire from the race with the last of the fleet crossing the finish line at 12:11:26.
