Sunday Sailors Summer Series 2016-17 Race 9 – A Most Fascinating Result

It was the yachts that sailed downwind with poled out headsails rather than spinnakers that enjoyed most success in this race. The winner, MYUNA III (Geoffrey Nixon), not only won the race by a significant margin she also recorded the best elapsed time of 1:34:24. Her elapsed time was not only faster than yachts with a longer waterline length but also faster than yachts that choose to fly spinnakers.
