Sunday Sailors Summer Series 2021 Race 10 – Last of the Series

Tuesday, 18th May 2021

This race was always going to be the series decider with only 1 point separating the top two yachts in the aggregate. To become the clear winner of the aggregate FOGGY DEW (Robert D’Arcy) had to finish this race at least 2 places ahead of WINSOME (Simon Hemingway). With only 12 yachts contesting the race the chances of both yachts improving their aggregate scores improved. However after sailing the 9.4 nautical mile course 29 in a breeze that averaged 17 knots for the morning and shifted from the north west to the west north west, FOGGY DEW finished 2nd – just 1 place ahead of WINSOME 3rd with VALIANT (David Keyes Tilley) only 10 seconds behind. This placed FOGGY DEW and WINSOME equal on points at the top of the aggregate which FOGGY won on a count back (she won the first race of the series). To read more click here.
