Recreational Boating’s annual Presentation Breakfast was held on Sunday 4 August with 85 SYC members and partners in attendance on a beautiful winter morning. Tucked up inside the warmth of the Members’ Bar & Bistro with a warming fire, there was plenty to enjoy throughout the morning.
A delicious hot breakfast was cooked by Kol and his team which was accompanied by some incredible mouth-watering pastries kindly donated by SYC member, Mike Ferguson and his company Fergys Food – thanks Mike!
The morning also included a sensational trivia quiz from quiz maestro, Simon Hemingway. A variety of questions kept everyone on their toes and, along with the raffle, was topped off with some great prizes. Thanks also to Tommy Raft of Tom Raft’s Fruit World for his donations towards the day.
Arguably the highlight of the day was certainly the awarding of the Recreational Boating Club Member of the Year award. This was awarded to Chris Hunting which was a well-deserved recognition of a very quiet achiever. Chris is a regular attendee at the many Recreational Boating events and is always one to put up his hand and help out, whether it be on a BBQ, helping to set up for our events or just helping his fellow members tie up when arriving at one of our cruise in company destinations. Well done Chris!
