Recreational Boating Fishing Challenge Wrap Up

Thursday, 24th November 2016

What a beautiful day it turned out to be for our annual SYC Recreational Boating Fishing Challenge!
Sunday, 20 November was our new fishing competition date after it was postponed on 23 October due to bad weather.
Seventeen boats, many with eager children on board, headed out on the Bay at various times and then returned to the Ken King Centre for the excitement (or not) of the 11:30hr weigh-in deadline.
Prize winners included Greg McGann from South Stack who was awarded the ‘Wayne Read Trophy’ with the top Snapper weight of 5.18kg. Zoe from Thunderbird won the Junior prize which was a fishing charter voucher from Melbourne Fishing Charters who were the presenters at the Recreational Boating October Guest Speaker Night. All seven prize winners received a rod and reel provided by Recreational Boating Committee.
