Recreational Boating August Guest Speaker – Peter Turrell Wrap Up

Tuesday, 27th August 2019

In front of a strong crowd last Wednesday night Peter Turrell spoke to several aspects of the February 2019 cruise around Tasmania.

Peter covered aspects of trip preparation, including anchoring equipment (snubbers), food suggestions and making sure your boat is prepared.Peter then covered the trip with a very interesting narrative complimented by some really spectacular photographs that he had taken. He was interrupted by an on screen phone call from the “prime mover” of the trip, Rob Ungar. Further stories and tales were told.  10 power boats (40 people, 1200 nautical miles) took part in a great cruise with highlights including Hells Gates with the Franklin and Gordon Rivers, Port Davey and Bathurst Harbour, Bruny Island and the Derwent, Tasman Peninsula and Freycinet and a return via Flinders Island.

What an adventure!!!

The vote of thanks was given by our Commodore Ashley Trebilcock.
