Notice of By-Law Amendment
In accordance with Section 34.3 of the Constitution, we are notifying you that the following amendments have been made by General Committee (GC) to the Sandringham Yacht Club By-Laws:
- Section 5.4 Sail Lockers – additional paragraph prohibiting the storage of hazardous materials in the sail lockers. The lockers were designed to store sails and related ‘non-hazardous’ sailing equipment.
- Section 9 Fee Schedule – update to the fee schedule incorporating the fee increases in line with the 2025/26 SYC budget adopted by General Committee. Broadly it is the application of CPI to existing fees.
- Policy 4 Marina Berth and Hardstand Rental Policy – the updates here predominantly relate to the hardstand. Moving forward only racing yachts / keelboats will be granted storage on the hardstand. A grandfather clause will provide for existing power boats. Inactive boats irrespective of their type will need to be moved on to make way for active, racing yachts. Membership and participation in club events remain the pre-requisites and weight under the crane limits is also a consideration.
