An initial lack of breeze saw a 20 minute postponement to the start of the race. The chance of completing the 9.8 nautical mile 6 leg course 25 seemed remote. However the breeze that did arrive was more than enough. It averaged 16 knots from the north north west allowing 30 of the 31 starters to complete the race with time to spare.
