Apart from the stand alone race on Sunday 31 Oct 2021 this was the first Sunday morning race since 11 July 2021 – the last race of the abandoned winter series. Eighteen of the 34 yachts entered in the series aggregate hoisted their sails to contest the first race of this Summer Series which was around the 9.3 nautical mile course 12. Of the 18 starters 17 finished with VIVA LA VIDA (Liam stevens) choosing to retire. It was the Serendipity 28, ISA LEI (A. Chapman) that was first across the start line in a breeze that averaged about 12 knots for the morning predominantly from the south south east.
