A Good Result for the Early Starters Sunday Sailors Winter Series 2019 Race 3

Despite a strong wind warning for Port Philip the wind at Fawkner Beacon didn’t get above 14 knots during the race with a gust of 16 knots around 1000. The race took the 22 yacht fleet around the 10.6 nautical mile course 28 – the longest so far this series. All the fleet completed the course well within the time limit with the last yacht crossing the finish line at 11:59:32. They had been carried around the course in lumpy seas by a north to north westerly breeze that averaged about 12 knots for the morning.
