First Time on the Podium – Wednesday Wonders Summer series 2018-19 Race 8

Every race this series has produced 3 different podium finishers. There has yet to be a yacht to claim more than one. It was LEBROK (Theo Korbel) who led the 38 yacht fleet across the finish line in race 8 for her first podium finish of the series. BON VIVANT (Russell Keays) was 2nd to record her first podium finish with VINDALOO finishing 3rd also for her first podium finish. Upholding the record of “firsts” was ARCH DE TRIOMPHE (Murray/Davis/Taylor) who won her first Start of the Day to become the 6th different yacht to do so this series. The fastest elapsed time was recorded for the first time by CARPE DIEM (Paul Commins) breaking the grip of WICKED (Mike Welsh) and ESPRIT (Garry Anderson) who had the fastest elapsed times in the previous 5 races. DOLPHIN PLAY (John Brennan) continued to have best value for money recording the longest elapsed time for the 4th time this series.
