It’s the end of an era for Frenzy at SYC with Frenzy last week departing SYC for its new home at RPAYC in Sydney.
Frenzy was purchased by Jon Evans in 2012 and it was a force to be reckoned with in what was an excellent 10 year campaign, winning eight Club Championships in this period:
- 2013/14 – AMS
- 2014/15 – AMS & YV
- 2015/16 – AMS & YV
- 2016/17 – AMS
- 2019/20 – AMS & PHS
Frenzy also formed part of SYC’s winning Association Cup team in 2016 and 2022, won the SYC Club Captain’s Trophy on four occasions (2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2019/20) and over its 10 years sailed by Jon and his Frenzy crew, won a whopping 57 SYC keelboat trophies.
Jon and the loyal team of Frenzy, including Phil Strong as helm, pushed Frenzy to its limits, sailing her hard and fast and in conditions that many dared to face (see pictures!).
