Dear Members

The Club’s annual magazine Off the Wind is now online, a quick facility update, know anything about ‘Catherine Grace’ and private casual dining ….here’s the detail;

1) Off the Wind – the 2020 edition of our Club Magazine is now online and it’s a great read. The cover image is a beauty of Jason Close’s Patriot in the Sydney to Hobart, and there is lots of club news, updates, and plenty of photos…click here to download the e-magazine. A big thank you to Naomi who designed it all in-house and thanks also to her special publishing team of Di Tyndall, Kate Mitchell and Gill Stubbs.

2) Facility & Services Update

  • Clubhouse Open: our food outlets have now re-opened for Members and Members Guests…if you‘d like to come in for lunch or dinner please book on 9599 0999 we’d love to see you down here. We are accepting walk-ins if we can. Trading 7 days for lunch and dinner but please note we are closed on Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday (this Mon 8 June).
  • Boating: you can continue to use your boat, go sailing, go fishing, and go recreational boating following certain rules; read the very latest from Australian Sailing – click here
  • Marina: fully accessible to authorised Members
  • Boat Yard: fully operational with all tenants and contractors working onsite including the boat brokers and the chandlery
  • Launch Ramp: fully accessible to authorised Members
  • Boat Storage Areas: OTB, Hardstands and Marina remains fully accessible
  • Ken King Centre: Open daily from 11am – 5pm for Take Away Food an now “Dine In Food” with tables & chairs…plus coffee and alcohol (closed Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday – Monday 8 June)
  • Reception: Open daily from 11am – 6pm (closed Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday – Monday 8 June)
  • Communication: Phones are manned daily from 11am – 6pm 9599 0999

3) Catherine Grace – does anyone out there know any history of the John Pugh 60ft Ketch, Catherine Grace that was launched in Melbourne in 1976? If you do, please drop Past Commodore Chris Carlile a line [email protected]…any useful information appreciated.

4) Private Casual Dining for 16 – we may be restricted but if you’d like a small lunch or dinner for a special occasion for 16 people then our Olympic Room is perfect. Under the new regs the room limit is 16 and you’ll be on split tables but if you book for 16 the room will be all yours, with your own wait staff, order off our normal menus and it’s at your Club. Bookings can be made like any normal reservation on 9599 0999.
