Congratulations to SYC Member Dr. James Taylor OAM

Friday, 28th January 2022

On behalf of all at SYC we extend our congratulations to SYC Member Dr. James Taylor who has been recognised during this year’s Australia Day Awards with a Medal (OAM) of the Order of Australia for his wonderful service to emergency medicine and to the community.

Many of you will know James as he is an active sailor (Arch de Triomphe), volunteer and all round great Club Member. In recent years at SYC, James was a volunteer medical officer for both the Melbourne to Osaka (2018) and also the summer of Laser Regattas in 2020. He was also a very important part of a panel that did a major safety review of how SYC conducts its racing – and that in itself has led to a wide range of safety improvements at SYC.

Well done James – you inspire us all to make a positive difference in our community..
