OTB News and Updates

Friday, 20th September 2019

Dear OTB sailors and friends,

Just a quick update for you this week on all the OTB events happening around or near SYC at the moment. The dredge has been a welcomed sight in our marina and pond area over the past week and it has already made a big impact on our launching area. Please check the dredge update for more details on these works and be mindful of the drop off that has been created when launching (click here for the update)

Special thanks to our OTB sailors and family who helped out during our working bee that was held last Sunday morning. As a results, the old and dangerous storage racks next to the OTB building have been removed, likely to be replaced very soon and the fence line we share we HSC was thoroughly cleaned in preparation for Opening day.

Congratulations to Daniel Conacher, our recently elected SYC Junior Captain. He has some big shoes to fill following on from Natalie Coman, but he has earned the respect of all his fellow OTB sailors over the years and I know he will do a fantastic job. Well done!

Pie Night is being held in the Members’ Bar this evening from 6:30pm, so I hope to see many of you there for an overdue catch up and a few party pies. If your heading to the Spring Sail regatta this weekend then you can pick up your boat and head straight upstairs for a drink and a chat. You’ll have a chance to meet our Keelboat Sail Captain, hear from our overseas travellers and catch up on what has been organised for you this Summer.

Also it is now time to apply for dinghy storage if you forgot and JDS coaching program is also set up online and ready for you to enrol. Click here to apply for storage and click here to enrol for JDS!

Last but not least, Sail Sandy is around the corner so please ensure that you ENTER NOW and that you have let the boating office know you are available to ASSIST at [email protected].

Best Regards,

David Suda
OTB Club Captain
