Flat seas, 12 knots of breeze and a temperature in the mid 20’s combined for a good afternoons sail. The race was around the 6 leg 9.8 nautical mile course 25. The breeze, which shifted from the south east to the south south west and varied in strength during the afternoon, meant a downwind start and offered the option of going out or staying closer inshore for the early part of the windward legs. About 48% of the total course length was to windward. It was one of the closer races of the series with all 32 starters finishing within 18 minutes 25 seconds of each other. Read more…
